Good Mookie, Bad Mookie
Koji gives up the winning run in the 9th as Sox lose again to Angels by 1 run, this time 4-3. Allen Webster pitched 6 innings & limited the damage to 3 runs. Mookie Betts had an eventful game. He did get a double at the plate & he did make one nice catch going up against the stands in center, then turning his catch into a double play. On the bad side he did get a poor jump on a sinking liner, dove for it & the ball got by him for a triple. Mookie also pulled up short of the wall in the 9th to allow a ground rule double, the eventual winning run. Hey, he's a 2nd baseman being asked to learn CF at the big league level. How do you think Pedroia would do in CF at Fenway? I like Mookie & I think he brings energy to this lineup. Maybe the Sox should think about bringing Mookie back into the infield at 3B for Middlebrooks or at SS for Bogaerts.
