Alleluia! Losing Streak Over
Finally, a win. It took a great pitching performance by Clay Buchholz, homers from Mookie Betts & Dustin Pedroia, & a run in the 10th inning on a base hit by Yoenis Cespedes to plate Brock Holt who stole 2 bases. Red Sox 4, Jays 3. Koji still looked terrible as he gave up 3 in the 9th on a homer by Encarnacion to tie the game. Farrell needs to sit him for awhile. No reason to keep running Koji out there until he figures out what's going wrong. And a little rest can't hurt. Maybe this is a chance to find another closer like Hembree. But any win after an 8 game losing streak is a good one. Going forward, Buchholz may have done enough to keep his spot in the rotation next year, just by seeing how good he is when he is on his game. Can Buck sustain that? Good luck, Ben, trying to figure out if he can stay healthy & be effective over the course of an entire 30+ starts season in 2015. I think a backup plan is in order.
