A Winning Road Trip
5-3, over .500. When is the last time we were able to say that about a Red Sox road trip? Sox sweep the Reds yesterday with a 5-4 victory. Anthony Ranaudo gives the team a serviceable 6 innings before turning it over to the bullpen. Edward Mujica has actually been better lately & he closed the game, although he is still scary to me. Mike Napoli plays in place of Big Papi at 1B & Nap collects 3 RBI, 2 of them on a game-winning homer to right center. Is Ben right? Do you really need an ace when you have Buck, De La Rosa, Ranaudo, Kelly, Workman & Webster? Believe me, the answer is "yes!" I have no faith in Buchholz making it through a whole year healthy. Webster scares me. Workman has a tired arm. I still believe in the conspiracy theory that Jon Lester went to Oakland solely so the Red Sox could get Cespedes on the team for next year & that the Sox will re-sign Lester in the off-season. And I think the Sox will add another proven arm like Cole Hamel or James Shields to the mix. They certainly have the money to do whatever they want.
