San Fran
I happen to be in San Francisco on a family vacation. A few observations. Hippies still exist out here. AT&T Park is one of my favorite outdoor parks without a roof. We saw a bit of history last Sunday - first time a catcher, Buster Posey, & a pitcher, Madison Baumgartner, hit grand slams in the same game. This city of San Francisco is very inclusive & welcoming to all -- all races, nationalities, orientations. Homelessness is the one issue that San Franciscans struggle to overcome. Alcatraz is creepy on TV & it's even creepier in person to visit. Did you know that native Americans took over "the rock" from 1969-1972? The 8th inning song during Giants games is "City by the Bay." The Giants are very loved out here, much like the Sox in New England. The left coast is very different from New England, but my memory of San Fran will be that their people make everyone feel at home.
