Same Story, No Offense
Another 1-run loss. I'd hate to be a pitcher right now on the Red Sox staff. Give up 1 run & you could lose. And that's what the Sox did for the 2nd night in a row to the Chicago Cubs. Very uncharacteristically, Koji did not have a good outing, leaving balls up in the zone & giving up a lone run in the 9th which led to a 2-1 Cubs win. Not much offense to discuss on either side. So far these 2 teams have scored 5 runs combined in 2 games - Cubs 4, Red Sox 1. Off the field it was nice to see so many Cubs fans making their way to Fenway & in the stands to cheer for their last place team. With the Rays starting to win again the Red Sox may find themselves in last very soon too. And stop, Tim Wakefield, with the NESN party line that the Sox still can reel off 10 wins in a row. It's not happening this year. It's more likely that they could lose 10 in a row the way that this home stand is starting off. Time to start trading for 2015.
