A Sweep

Jon Lester pitched shutout ball for 8 innings to defeat the KC Royals 6-0. The Sox offense, particularly the bottom third, helped to put up enough runs for a comfortable win. That included a 2-run homer by David Ross who now has 6 HR's on the season. Pressure is mounting on the Sox brass to get a deal done with Lester, even after word leaked that the Sox may be interested in trading for Cole Hamels. As mentioned on The Baseball Show, why trade for Hamels & give up 2 or 3 of your best prospects? Just pay Lester. The longer that the Sox let Lester go without an extension, the worse the odds get that they will re-sign their ace. The boys in pinstripes could certainly use a dependable starter like Lester.
