No Contract Update on Lester

On Saturday Buster Olney said that the Sox & Jon Lester's agent were reopening talks about a contract extension. On WEEI today an article quotes Lester as saying there have been no talks to the best of his knowledge. Lester also went on to say that his contract status should not be the focus of his teammates right now, just after their first series win in awhile. He does not want his contract to be a distraction that his teammates have to answer questions about while they should be focusing on trying to get back into the AL East race. Lester thinks the proper time to resume contract discussions is at the end of the season, not during, "perhaps after another World Series win." I have doubts about a repeat, but I like Lester's focus on the task at hand. The Red Sox really screwed up on this one & I hope they can rebound.
