Misery Loves Company

The Boston Red Sox & the Tampa Bay Rays. 2 perrenial playoffs teams who made the postseason in 2013 have fallen on hard times in 2014. The Rays can't hit & they have pitching issues for the first time in many years. The Red Sox can't hit, but their pitching staff has the 4th best ERA in the AL. Who would have thought it, the Red Sox outpitching the Rays? The only solace during the first half of this season is that the Rays, not the Sox, are in last. I don't like Mr. Professor Joe Maddon who thinks he can outsmart every other manager. Maddon can point to the loss of Matt Moore as a reason for the Rays demise, but David Price is having a subpar year & it is very possible that he will be traded by the deadline. The Red Sox should be looking to move a combination of vets & rookies to improve their roster for 2015. Both teams are expected to be active at the trade deadline. Things change, don't they. Thank goodness we had a special 2013.
