Lackey, Ortiz Strong In Win

John Lackey pitched 8 innings, giving up a series best 3 runs with only 2 earned. In the 9th David Ortiz salvaged a great pitching performance by Lackey with a 3-run homer off of old nemesis Joba Chamberlain to give the Sox a 5-3 win. The Sox picked a good night to win as the Jays, Yankees & O's all lost. Brock Holt went 4-5 & Mike Napoli made his presence in the lineup felt as he went 3-4 including a homer off of Annibel Sanchez. A team meeting before the game may have gone for naught if not for the huge home run by Big Papi in his last at bat. A big win for sure. It's as if the Red Sox team had been kidnapped on an episode of "24" & this win is a sign to Red Sox Nation of proof of life. Nap is back. The lineup is getting stretched out. Let's ride this wave of optimism into Camden Yards tonight.
