Don't Blame the Offense
6 runs & 15 hits equals a win, right? No, not when you're the Boston Red Sox & you're on your way to another 10 game losing streak. Sox lose in Motown 8-6 last night. Jon Lester had a rare bad start, not making it through 5 innings while giving up 5 runs. The bullpen was bad as they collectively gave up 3 runs. Blame the pitching last night, not the offense. Daniel Nava & Dustin Pedroia had 3 hits a piece & X-man added 2 more. Like a lot of teams this year, consistency has been a very elusive word. Pitching good, offense bad. Offense good, pitching bad. John Lackey goes tonight to try & salvage the final game of this lost series before the Sox fly to division rival Baltimore. So far my thought about another 7-3 stretch over the next 10 games is off to an 0-2 start. Strange year.
