Big Start for Buchholz

A pitcher with great stuff that just can't stay on the field. Injured more than healthy the last few years. Do you give up on him? Do you trade him? Is Clay Buchholz the new Daniel Bard? Is it all mental with Buck? A lot of questions. Not many answers. Tonight will be a pivotal start for the Clay man as he tries to salvage one game for his team in the great northwest. If Buck performs reasonably well, he will no doubt stay in the rotation. If Buck has a rough outing, though, there will be head-scratching about what to do with him. Several pitchers in Pawtucket are knocking down the door to get to the big team. Felix Doubront laid an egg in his return & he may be relegated to the bullpen for awhile while De La Rosa or Workman stays in the rotation. And Buck isn't a bullpen kind of guy. A bad outing tonight may necessitate another trip to the DL for a mystery illness, like his mystery knee injury this last time. We'll see what happens.
