Betts Up, De La Rosa Down
Like everyone else, I'm excited to see what Mookie Betts can do to help the big club. However, no one should floss by the nice stint that Rubby De La Rosa just turned in as a starter for the Sox. Rubby's stock just soared as a big league starter. His ERA was under 3.00 in 5 starts & with a little offense behind him he certainly could have had 3 or 4 wins instead of 2. If the brittle Clay Buchholz breaks down or the Sox want to give Lester or Lackey a break in July, De La Rosa has gone to the front of the line to rejoin the big club ahead of Webster, Renauldo & Barnes. I guess that work with Pedro paid off. De La Rosa has a much better grasp of the strike zone & his change up is awesome. He has put it all together this year.
