No Excuses

10 losses in a row. An 8-5 loss yesterday in Tampa Bay for a 3rd straight sweep. This team is either hitting & getting no pitching or pitching & getting no hitting. I usually agree with the Rem Dawg on his comments, but not yesterday. To say that injuries to Victorino & Napoli are the cause of this losing streak is wrong. Other teams are winning with major players out. This is a case of non-performance by all 25 guys on that roster. Inconsistency has been the correct word to describe the 2014 team since the start of this season. It is hard to duplicate a long & emotional road to a championship where big hits in key situations were a nightly event. Lady Luck is fleeting. Injuries have not helped the situation, but I don't look to injuries as the reason for this 10-game streak. Poor defense at times. The pitching has taken a big downturn. Playing from behind almost every night. At least the bats are coming around, scoring 5 runs each of the last 2 games. But let's not look for excuses, Jerry. The simple truth is that too many players are performing at a subpar level. Period. Nuf ced!
