Miller Gives Up Another Walk-Off
Andrew Miller is glad to get out of the Twin Cities. Both losses occurred with him as the last man on the mound. After pitching the 9th I don't know why John Farrell didn't go to Koji, who was loosening up, or Tazawa in the 10th for that matter. The Twins had already used their closer, Glenn Perkins, so it was our bullpen against theirs. After tying the game on big 2-run RBI single by Middlebrooks in the 9th the Sox lose 4-3 in 10 innings & thus lose the series to Minnesota. I think Farrell has some explaining to do on the use of Miller for a 2nd inning. Maybe he was thinking about the upcoming series with Detroit. Follow your own motto, John. Stay focused on the job at hand today.
