Loss #9 in a Row
Victorino on DL. Nap not healthy. Bogaerts lifted as a precaution. Not a good vibe coming from the Red Sox dugout these days. Lots of bad juju. I saw the Sox score 5 runs in the 1st inning yesterday & I turned it off. I knew only bad things could happen after that. At dinner I checked the score & it was 5-5 in the 13th. Again, I turned it off & I couldn't believe that the Sox could hold a 5-run lead against the light hitting Rays. Finally, the Sox lose 6-5 in 15 innings. It's a killer to play all of those extras & end up losing, like rubbing it in your face. Maybe all these injuries will get us a look at some different players -- Brandon Workman today, Stephen Drew soon (although Brock Holt has been delivering as the leadoff guy), Daniel Nava is back, etc. Henry Owens, Mookie Betts & Deven Marrero are in Manchester this weekend for the Portland Sea Dogs. If things stay on a downward spiral, we may see them with the big team later this year. Another lost series, I think 4 in a row now. No wonder we are in last place. Too many subpar years from too many players.
