Lester & Lackey Remain A Great 1-2 Punch
If we have a series where both Lester & Lackey are going to pitch, I always feel that we have a better chance of winning that particular series. Take Texas for example. Even though we lost the first game when the Rangers #1 pitched against our #5, I just knew that things would turn out OK with Lester & Lackey going the final 2 games & it did work out in favor of the Red Sox. Regarding the rest of the rotation, Jake Peavey has pitched better than anticipated, so we have a better than 50-50 chance of winning when Jake is on the hill. Doubront & Buchholz are less than 50-50 at this point. It seems like these guys pitch 1 good game & 2 bad ones. Both may straighten out or both may find themselves on the DL for a few turns to work on mechanics. Brandon Workman, Allen Webster & Rubby de la Rosa are all ready for their chance to join the big rotation. And maybe they will get it soon.
