Lester, Gomes Power Sox to 6-3 Win

Jon Lester set a person high with 15 strikeouts over the first 8 innings. Jonny Gomes put the Sox on top 4-0 with his grand slam in the 1st inning to set the tone. Red Sox beat the A's again 6-3 & the Sox finally win a home series after dropping 2 of 3 to the Rays. The A's have just not looked like their dominating self this weekend. Maybe it's jet lag. May it's too much Boston seafood. Whatever, we'll take it. And John Lackey goes this afternoon to try for the first sweep of the year. The Sox are a couple of games behind the Yankees & O's, but things are looking brighter with 4 of 5 starters pitching well now. Only Felix Doubront remains the question mark. We may see Brandon Workman or Allen Webster up soon if Doubront's outing don't improve. The Sox are getting more consistent pitching & more consistent offense which equals better results. A much better last 10 days than the first 3 weeks of the season. Things are moving in the right direction.
