It's 2012 Again!
8 losses in a row. John Lackey couldn't have done anymore. Why didn't Farrell pinch-run for Pierzynski? Why not use Koji in the 9th & 10th if needed to get a win? And on & on the 2nd guessing goes, but the end result is another loss 1-0. My beef last night is that the Red Sox should have played & managed this game like it was game 7 of the World Series, meaning all hands on deck to get a win & stop this losing streak. It shouldn't have been played & coached like a regular season game. Example, Brock Holt gets a leadoff double. Why not have Bogaerts bunt him to 3rd with Pedroia & Ortiz coming up? Instead we get 2 strikeouts & a ground out to end the inning. I'd like to see the Sox do more of whatever is necessary, especially in the late innings. I know Bogaerts is one of the only hot hitters right now, but I'd rather take a chance on a fly ball or hit by Pedroia, then a hit by Ortiz or Napoli if Ortiz draws an intentional walk. Let's show a little desperation & not business as usual to get out of this streak!
