Update on Middlebrooks & Victorino

CBS News reports that Will Middlebrooks suffered a grade 1 calf sprain this past weekend. According to John Farrell, the pain has subsided since the injury & no timeframe has been set for his return. In his place the Sox recalled Brock Holt to fill his roster spot, even though Jonathan Herrera will get most of the playing time at 3B. There was some speculation that young gun Garin Cecchini might get the call up, but the Sox opted to leave Cecchini at triple A. WEEI reports that Shane Victorino is still rehabbing a strained hamstring that occurred during the last game of spring training. Vic's rehab was interrupted by a bout with the flu & no timetable has been set for his return. Jaclkie Bradley, Jr. continues to do a nice job in Victorino's absence. JBJ has played well in the field & has also come up with some big hits lately. Herrera, Holt & JBJ are just early examples of a deep roster put together by Ben.
