Tuesday Morning Quarterbacking

JBJ pinch runs for Mike Napoli in the 8th. John Farrell leaves Bradley in to hit in the 9th instead of pinch-hitting for him with Jonny Gomes. Farrell might have done Gomes a favor by not letting him hit against Tommy Hunter who regularly buries righties. But the non-move will be talked about since JBJ struckout to end the game. Any manager knows this truth - you are a hero when a move works & a goat when it doesn't. If you can't live with your decisions, don't be a manager because all the bad results are second guessed - like this one. You make the best decision at the time & live with the outcome. John Farrell will live with this one.

Strike 3 should have been ball 2. It was so high and away that JBJ reacted uncharacteristicly with a jump. Bad calls will be made all year so they need to get used to it. Also, it should never have come to JBJ with all of the chances they had throughout the game.
