Sox Get First Win 6-2

The proverbial "tatter" helped the Red Sox down the O's 8-2 last night. Big shot from David Ortiz early to put the Sox up 2-0. Mike Napoli followed later with a 2-run shot on an 0-2 pitch to put the Sox up 4-2. Later in the game, after intentionally walking Ortiz to load the bases, Nap hammered a crisp single to left, scoring 2 more, to put the nail in the coffin. Don't overlook the contibutions of Daniel Nava & Dustin Pedroia who set the table for the big swingers. John Lackey was very good through 6, giving up just 2 runs on another Nelson Cruz homer. Mujica, Tazawa & Koji took care of the final 3 innings. A web gem was turned in by Pedroia at 2B on a ball up the middle where he dove & made a long, strong throw to 1B to beat Hardy. Spectacular play. Nice team effort & a good team win. Felix the Cat Doubront goes for the series win tonight.
