Pineda Ejected for 2nd Pine Tar Violation
It's not a PED issue, but Michael Pineda is using more than dirt to get a grip on the ball. First inning - he gives up 2 runs & no pine tar. 2nd inning - no runs, but a big streak of pine tar very visible on his neck this time. Farrell asked the umpires to check & Pineda was ejected. What a goofball! Hello, can you be anymore obvious? Did he not think that field cameras were going to zoom in on him after the last round of pine tar on his hand against the Sox? Afterwards, the Yankees comments from Joe Girardi & Brian Cashman were like those from the 3 stooges - deaf, dumb & blind. Giradi didn't see anything - again. Cashman said the organization failed & would correct the matter. What a crock! At the least the guys from MLB said that Pineda should be a little less obvious if you are going to use some substance. They showed Lackey rubbing his left hand where the sunscreen lotion may have been placed inconspicuously. Just too obvious by Pineda. And his ejection may set the Yankees bullpen back for today's game. It will definitely generate more controversy before the Yankee pitcher's next start. Controversy & Yankees - what could be better!
