No Sweep

Jon Lester said it best. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the other guy. R.A. Dickey outpitched Lester yesterday, plain & simple. The Sox still end up with a series win. I guess I don't understand why regulars like Victorino & Ortiz got the day off when Monday is an off day. But whatever. If I'm Jon Lester & I have had an average of only 2 runs scored in my 6 starts, I'd want my best hitters in there. But it may not have mattered the way Dickey was pitching. His knuckleball was dancing & he wasn't walking people. When the Sox stranded runners on 2nd & 3rd in the 6th you knew it was not going to end well. And it didn't as the floodgates opened from the 7th on to give the Jays a 7-1 win. Every time the Sox pull close to .500 they lose. Maybe the upcoming series against Tampa Bay will get them to plus .500 since the Rays are having a tough time of it right now. Not a great April for the reigning world champs - understatement.
