John Lackey Delivers

After 2 subpar performances in his last 2 mound appearances John Lackey stood & delivered a great outing last night. 8 innings, 11 strikeouts. Sox win 5-1 over the Yankees. A lot of attention will be centered on the ejection of Michael "Mr. Pine Tar" Pineda. But let's not loose sight of a great effort by Lackey, reminiscent of his 2013 comeback season. A few people, including myself, were wondering if John Lackey's best days were behind him. I guess he answered that question in as big a win as you can have in April. Sox were coming off 2 defeats & the Yankees had won 4 of 5 meetings thus far. Lackey's win gives the Sox a chance to win this short series today. Nice effort big John!
