Breslow Returns, Workman Sent to AAA

Craig Breslow gives the Red Sox a 3rd lefty out of the bullpen while Brandon Workman returns to Pawtucket. It would be my thought that Workman gets extended innings in Pawtucket in case Felix Doubront fails a few more times in September. If so, Workman - who slipped into Buchholz' spot last year, doing a very credible job - could return to the big club as a starter. Even though Doubront reported in shape this spring training, he has struggled, particularly his last start on Tuesday. Like Ryan Lavarnway, I think the Sox are ready to make or break with Doubront since they have so much young pitching ready to move up the pipeline. Felix the Cat's start in New York on Sunday will be an important one.
