A Very Nice Victory
When I see Brock Holt at 3B & Jonathan Herrera at SS I am not fearful of the Boston lineup if I am Bud Norris pitching for the O's. But the men at the bottom of the order came through in a big way yesterday to score 2 go-ahead runs in the 7th & help the Sox win 4-2, their 3rd win in their last 4 tries. At 8-10 the Sox are just 2 behind the Yankees & Jays at 10-8. No one is running away with the East & it may be a year where 89 or 90 wins takes the division crown. Felix Doubront, Junichi Tazawa & Koji Uehara silenced the O's big bats all afternoon by limiting the potent Baltimore offense to just 2 runs. Good pitching. Timely hitting - including a homer by Big Papi. Always a nice recipe for a win. I know my buddy Gaff is liking the Sox 4th run which scored on a bunt by Herrera after Holt's RBI triple. Bunting is a lost art & a run-producing bunt is demoralizing to the opposition. Happy Easter & let's see if Peavy keeps the winning going today!
