A Dull Game, A Dull Loss
Yankee Stadium had many empty seats. There was no emotion from the crowd. The players on the field were going through the motions at times. This was as dull a game between the Red Sox & Yankees as I've seen in years. Making it worse, I had to listen to Bob Costas on MLB. Now that's a dull baseball announcer! MLB kept scrolling - incessantly - stats from prior Red Sox-Yankees meetings throughout the whole game. Can we stick to this game, please! And talk about dull, how about the Red Sox offense. There was none. This is a bad lineup without Middlebrooks & Victorino. Too many easy outs. Sizemore, Pedroia, Napoli, Nava (before the homer), Pierzynski & Herrera all looked dead at the plate. It seemed like a harmless error when Herrera misplayed a roller by Ellsbury to start the 4th, but it turned into 2 runs. Then the #9 batter for the Yankees yanks one down RF line for an excuse-me homer. There was no fire from the Red Sox. Very uncharacteristic. Let's hope the Boston offense wakes up tonight.
