The Spring Slump of David Ortiz

Really? Are we going to listen to writers worry about Big Papi not tearing the cover off the ball in Florida? I say give it break! As Allen Iverson famously said, "it's practice, man, we're talking about practice." Most of the time guys who are hot in March start the season cold in April. Ortiz had no spring training last year & look what he did. Come March 31st everyone starts over, just like in October when the playoffs start. Spring training is one thing. The regular season is another thing. And the playoffs are the final thing. Don't confuse one with the other. Each segment stands on its own. What do I always say? Just leave spring training healthy. So far, so good. Big Papi will be fine.
