No Extensions for Ortiz or Lester Yet

With 2 weeks left to the pre-season there have been no announcements about the anticipated extensions to be offered by the Sox to David Ortiz & Jon Lester. Big Papi is looking for 1 more year, probably around the same $13 million he is making now. Jon Lester should get 5 years minimum at a hometown "discount" of $15 mil to $20 mil per year. Ben Cherington has been very quiet & no news has leaked about any on-going talks. I think that both deals will get finalized before the big club heads north to Baltimore to start the season. Especially for Lester, he said no negotiations will take place once the season starts. You, me & the Sox don't want him going to free agency, so Ben best get his deal done in these next 2 weeks.
