Lee, Lester Shine

Cliff Lee still "got it." The lefty veteran for the Phillies had Sox batters guessing during his 5 innings of shutout work. Jon Lester had another nice outing as well, giving up just 1 run in the first inning. Johnny Gomes blasted a monster shot over everything in left field. And another good day of spring training concludes with no injuries while the Sox dropped a game to the Phils 4-1. Middlebrooks was out of the lineup, sporting the 3rd finger injury by players this year, but it was just a precaution. Peavy & Victorino had finger issues earlier this spring, but both are playing now. Half of camp is over. Sizemore-Bradley & Holt-Herrera are the only stories dealing with position battles. Let's hope that the 2nd half of spring training goes as smoothly as the 1st.
