Can Buck Hold Up?

One Globe reporter yesterday said that Clay Buccholz was 100% healthy & ready to go. I don't believe him. After last year & previous years anyone in Red Sox management has to look at Buck as a 1/2 to possibly 3/4 season pitcher. That's why starting the season with 6 starters on the roster is not a bad thing. Last year Brandon Workman filled in admirably for Buck in limited duty, then he was followed by the acquisition of Jake Peavy. Both pitchers got good production out of the spot held by Buccholz. Let's face it - he's not Jon Lester or John Lackey who can give you 200 innings a year. If we get 100 to 150 innings of quality starts, we'll be glad to take that.
