It's Over

The run of the New England Patriots is over for this year. A team that cut & pasted players in & out of the lineup all year fell on Sunday to a better Denver Broncos team. Tom Brady was not at his best, as evidenced on the long incompletion to a wide open Edelman. Logan Mankins got beat on a critical 4th & 2 play. The run game was taken away. The defense struggled to get off the field & make clean tackles all day long. It just was not to be. That takes away nothing from a team that should have never made it to the championship game. In fact, this might have been the best of Brady & Belichick as they dealt with a different set of players available each week. Yes, it would have been a Cinderella story of sorts for the Pats to make it back to the Super Bowl. But it wasn't to be. Still a very good year.
