Yankees Sign Roberts, Thornton

How hard up are the New York Yankees? They sign ex-Red Sox LHP Matt Thornton as a knee-jerk reaction to losing Daniel Boone Logan. Thornton was let go by the White Sox in a trade with the Red Sox since he was underperforming. Thornton also underperformed with the Red Sox & he was left of the post-season roster. The Yankees give Thornton a 2-year (not 1) deal worth $7 million. How stupid! And then they sign former O's 2B Dave Roberts to a 1-year deal. Roberts has played a total of 50 games in the last 4 years due to injury. It looks like the Yankees are running scared with the losses of Cano, Granderson, Rivera, Pettitte, possibly A-Roid & who knows about injuries to Jeter, Sabathia & a tired Kuroda. McCann & Ellsbury better have MVP-type years for the Yankees to go anywhere near .500.
