Pats Run Blount to Victory

LeGarrette Blount had a game that no one will soon forget. Round numbers - 150 yards rushing, 150 yards in kickoff returns, 300 all-purpose yards, 2 TD's. Blount was a one-man wrecking crew on the defense of the Buffalo Bills. Pats defeat Bills 34-20 to lock up the #2 seed & a much-needed & well-deserved bye next week. Pouring rain all day limited the pass attack, so the 3-headed monster of Blount, Ridley & Vereen took the ball & ran with it the great majority of offensive possessions. The Bills offense shot themselves in the foot most of the day. A missed 4th & 1 by the Bills was a turning point in the game. Patriots finish 12-4 during a season after suffering major injuries to Wilfork, Mayo, Gronk, Smith & others. It was a nice job of younger guys stepping in & stepping up to give their best effort this year, more times than not resulting in a win. Nice job by Belichick & Brady to adapt & adjust to different personnel, almost on a week-to-week basis. Whether they go far or not in the playoffs, the Pats have overachieved enough for me this year. Teams like the Giants, Ravens, Steelers, Cowboys, Bears & Texans couldn't repeat a trip to the playoffs. We are spoiled here in New England. Don't count the Pats out, though.
