Johnson, Fister, Navarro, Kazmir All Moving
Former Baltimore closer Jim Johnson gets traded to the Oakland A's as a cash dump. Former Detroit pitcher Doug Fister gets traded to the Washington Nationals. Former Cleveland pitcher Scott Kazmir signs a 2-year, $22 million free agent deal with the Oakland A's. Former Mariners catcher Dioner Navarro signs a 2-year, $8 million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays. Former Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes joins Ricky Nolasco in Minnesota on a 3-year, $24 million deal. Former Yankees catcher Chris Stewart was traded to the Pirates, a move expected after the Yankees signed Brian McCann. Lots of movement, but I have to say that the Oakland A's have upgraded with the loss of Grant Balfour & the probable loss of Bartolo Colon. It wouldn't surprise me if the Minnesota Twins ended up with Saltie on a 3-year deal. The winter meetings are set to get underway this weekend in Orlando, FL. A lot of chips are falling off the table in advance of these meetings. Mike Napoli, Jacoby Ellsbury, Shin Soo Choo & Cory Hart are still some big names out there.
