Corey Hart - An Interesting Option for Ben

Many free agents have signed. Several trades have gone down, the biggest being Fielder & Kinsler. The Red Sox have added 2 veteran bullpen arms. They have replaced Saltie with veteran AJ Pierzynski. They have re-signed Mike Napoli. What's left for Ben Cherington at this week's winter meetings in Orlando? Besides the status of Stephen Drew, the Sox may find a good fit in Corey Hart. Hart is coming off a year of injuries to his knees. He expects to be cleared 100% healthy by his doctor any day. Hart is a power OF/1B who averages 30 HR's a year. With Nap back at 1B & Nava, Gomes, Victorino back in the OF there may not be room for Hart if the Sox opt to go with JBJ in CF. But Hart is a guy you could get on a 1-year deal to re-prove his worth, similar to Beltran & Drew. He would be good insurance should Big Papi or Nap go down to injury & no team would give him a long term deal after a season of injuries. Keep your eye on Ben for one more deal this week. It could be Corey Hart.
