Red Sox 3, Yankees 1

Yes, we know the score since the start of the 21st century. From 2001 through 2013 no team has won more World Series championships than our own Boston Red Sox. The 86 year drought ended in 2004, thanks to pitchers Curt Schilling , Derek Lowe & Keith Foulk. We got a 2nd ring in 2007 thanks to pitchers Josh Beckett & Jon Papelbon. And we added a 3rd parade this year thanks to pitchers Jon Lester, John Lackey & Koji Uehara. It seems like it always comes down to pitching in World Series play. And thankfully our guys were better than theirs in each of these 3 great years. Other than the Red Sox, only the St. Louis Cardinals & the San Fran Giants have won 2 World Series titles over the last 13 years. Other teams with one championship season are the Arizona Diamonbacks, Anaheim Angels, Chicago White Sox, Florida Marlins & Philadelphia Phillies. And, yes, one by the New York Yankees. So if you are keeping score, which of course we all are, it's Red Sox 3, stinkin' Yankees 1.
