No Drew Next Year

I watched a show last night where Gordon Edes announced that his "sources" say Stephen Drew is fielding multiple offers for more years & more money than the Red Sox are willing to pony up. Gordon says Drew will not be returning. If true, this means that the 2014 SS position is Xander Bogaerts for the taking. It also means that Will Middlebrooks gets his job back at 3B. I say good. It's time for the Red Sox to let a kid like Bogaerts get a shot at anchoring SS for multiple years, a la Nomar when he first came up. We all know the carousel of shortstops over the past several years, a position the Red Sox have had trouble with. Bogaerts brings youth, & with youth some mistakes, but he also brings stability at that troubled position. One year, one title with another Drew is fine with me.
