Francona Gets Manager of the Year

The old guy beat out the new guy. Terry Francona got 16 votes to John Farrell's 12 to win the manager of the year award. Francona took his Cleveland Indians to the playoffs for the first time since 2007. We all know what happened that year. J.D. Drew hit his famous grand slam to help the Sox overcome a 3-1 defecit to the Indians. Then the Sox swept Colorado in the World Series. I think we can live without another individual award, given that we won big brass ring as a team - the World Series. I'm sure Francona would gladly trade in his award for another series win. Good for Tito. Better for us!
