Don't You Wonder?

I thought about guys like Josh Beckett, Adrian Gonzalez, Nick Punto, Kevin Youkilis, Jon Papelbon. Don't you wonder what they think about the Red Sox winning another World Series without them? As a player, it would bug me that my former team won a World Series without me. But not the players of today. It's a business today & these guys probably could care less, as long as they receive their payroll checks from their current teams. Whether they win or they lose, they get paid. From that perspective baseball players are like lawyers or doctors. Whether you win or lose, whether you get the right diagnosis or not, you still get paid. Wouldn't it be nice if you only had to pay your lawyer or your doctor if they won your case or if they cured your ailment? Too much guaranteed money out there in all forms of professions. Baseball is just one of them.
