Time For Line-Up Changes?
C'mon, I know that we as Red Sox fans have nothing to complain about, being just one win away from returning to the World Series. But - I'm doing my best Michael Felger impression today. I think that John Farrell has chosen to stick with Shane Victorino & Stephen Drew for defensive reasons. Offensively, both are terrible at the plate lately. Drew looks confused & Victorino can't hit from either side. Daniel Nava & Xander Bogaerts are options that Farrell could & should consider. Nava broke up a no-hitter in game 1 & the X-Man is good for a hit per game. I understand that Victorino & Drew got the Red Sox to where we are today. However, it couldn't hurt to start Nava & Bogaerts & use Victorino & Drew as defensive replacements later in the game. Even if Victorino & Drew are to stay in the starting lineup, how about moving them down to Drew 8th & Victorino 9th? Personally, I'd go with Ells, Nava, Pedey, Papi, Nap, Gomes, Saltie, Middlebrooks & Bogaerts. Or, staying with the current lineup - Ells, Pedey, Ortiz, Napoli, Gomes, Saltie, Middlebrooks, Drew & Victorino. And if a couple of lineup changes are all I have to complain about, that's nothing.
