Series Headed Back to Boston for Game 6 & Maybe 7
Yes, we are happy to have taken 2 out of 3 in Detroit. Both wins were by 1 measley run, 1-0 in game 3 & 4-3 in game 5. 4 of the 5 games in this series have been decided by 1 run. You just can't get a series any tighter than that. And with Max Scherzer going on Saturday & Justin Verlander going on Sunday it will be a major task to beat each pitcher for a 2nd time. Scherzer lost game 2 when his bullpen gave up 5 runs, including a granny to Big Papi. Verlander lost game 3 1-0 on a Mike Napoli homer & a gem pitched by John Lackey. Would it surprise anyone if this series went to a game 7? Absolutely not. But I'm hoping that Clay Buccholz has a start like he did in April & May & the Sox can touch up Scherzer early in the game like they did to Sanchez last night. Why is Fox speaking to Scherzer all the time on the bench? Is he a player or broadcaster? Note that Jim Leyland isn't talking during the game. Good for him. He is too old school for that crap. But Fox spends the money, so the league promnises them in-game access which is totally stupid. Half the time Buck & McCarver don't know the count, how many are out or who's up - because they are yacking about something from 1920 or pushing a Fox show. It's painful watching the game with these guys. But it is still a great & classic series between the Tigers & Red Sox. Nothing is won yet, but I'd rather be up 3-2 than down 3-2.

Speaking of Buck and McCarver, they are awful! Did you know that "Cabrera isn't phased at all when he has 2 strikes on him"? God. if I hear that again I'll scream!!
