Scherzer Versus Buccholz

To say that this is a big start for Clay Buccholz is an understatement. Buck has not been his old self after his 3 months of R&R in the middle of the season. He has enough innings under his belt now to figure out this Detroit lineup. His game 2 start was less than his best effort & any athlete likes a 2nd chance to atone for a poor outing. (Don't you think Clayton Kershaw would like last night's game back as a do-over?) It's a very similar feeling to the Verlander-Lackey game 3 scenario where it was all about Justin Verlander. And look what John Lackey did. If lightning can strike twice, maybe Buck can do to Scherzer what Lackey did to Verlander. We need a win tonight as any game 7 is always a crap shoot. Let's hope that Buck & the Sox offense can be just 1 run better than Scherzer & the Tigers tonight.
