Red Sox & Tigers - Game 1 Tonight
After last night's 3-2, 13-inning win by the St. Louis Cardinals over the LA Dodgers the ALCS starts up tonight with Lester facing Sanchez. To make it to the World Series the Red Sox will need to beat Verlander or Scherzer at least once. A local paper reviewed this series & this particular reporter's take is that the series will hinge on the ability of Detroit's pitching to stop the Red Sox running game. I think the Sox need to beat up on the #3 & #4 starters for Detroit in Boston, then grab 1 win in Detroit before returning to Fenway up 3 to 2. And don't underestimate the pitching staff of the Boston Red Sox. Lester, Lackey, Buchholz & Peavy can be as tough as the Motown starters. It should be a great series.
