Post Mortem on Rays

23 games against the Tampa Bay Rays, not to mention spring training tilts, is more than enough for one year. The Red Sox, for once, seem to have the Rays number this year as the Sox came out on top more than not. 3 out of 4 in the post-season shows me that the Red Sox were the deeper club & the better club in 2013. They beat both Moore & Price, even as Price did his best impression of the 2011 John Lackey after game 2 by downplaying his own sub-par performance. No one can just say "I got beat today, but I'll be ready next time." Excuses, excuses, excuses is a way of life today. I did want to mention 2 Tampa players that I do have respect for - Evan Longoria & Ben Zobrest. Like Pedroia, Victorino & Ellsbury, those 2 guys play hard every day. On the other hand, I won't miss Joe Maddon, Professor Wizard, who out-thinks himself sometimes. And I especially won't miss Fernando Rodney. Rodney let his team down in the biggest 2 games of the season, including a ridiculous performance last night where he left the bases loaded in the 9th for rookie Archer to deal with. When you embarass other teams after every save with your crooked hat & arrow slinging I say you deserve all the criticism & more when you fail. And fail mightily did Mr. Rodney when his team needed him. It's next year for Tampa Bay.
