Little Things Add Up

Couple of small things that helped the Red Sox win last night. Jacoby Ellsbury sets the tone on offense by drawing a 3-2 walk in the first. As much as Tim McCarver wants the Red Sox batters to start swinging at the first pitch, patience paid off again as Wainwright was up to about 60 pitches after 2 innings. And even though the game was well in hand, Daniel Nava doubles to left after sitting on the bench for about a week. He deserves some playing time & Farrell said he expects to have Nava in the lineup in St. Louis. Finally, how about the Lester to Ross to Napoli double play? Lester made an easy throw home & Ross cleared the runner to make an accurate throw to Napoli. Good veteran play all around with no hurrying to mess it up. The Sox executed their game plan flawlessly in game 1.
