Jonny Be Good!!

Say it however you want. Jonny Be Good! Jonny Come Lately (into the lineup)! Jonny Quest! By any measure the 3-run homer that shot off the bat of Jonny Gomes in the 6th inning to put the Sox up 4-1 was by far his biggest career hit as a Red Sox & perhaps as a player. His homer led to a 4-2 victory by the Sox & it evens the World Series at 2 games apiece. Should, & this is a big should, the Red Sox go on to win the fall classic, Jonny's HR may be the pivotal swing in momentum. Without that homer we lose 2-1 & go down in the series 3-1. Nice work from Buck, albeit short work of 4 innings, then Doubront, Tazawa, Lackey & Koji. Breslow just can't buy an out & Farrell should skip him. And why not a pickoff of Kolton Wong to end the game with Beltran at the plate! 2 crazy game endings in a row. When Big Papi goes 3-3, scores from 3rd on a sac fly & holds a dugout campfire meeting you know that #34 wants another series ring. And it all worked. After one round of the Cards 4 best pitchers versus our 4 best pitchers the series is even. Now games 5 & game 6 revert back to the big boys - Wainwright & Lester, Lackey & Wacha. One team is coming to Boston up 3 to 2. I hope it's us. After Gomes' homer I feel like the magic is back again. Best 2 out of 3 now. And the series returns to Boston.

That Drew hit a ball to the outfield & FINALLY brought in a base runner deserves mentioning. I was expecting the usual K or pop up to the infield. I still say he should sit however.
