2013 St. Louis Cardinals

Who are the Cardinals? Well, let's start with their regular season record of 97-65, same record as our Boston Red Sox. They were pushed by the Cincinnati Reds & Pittsburgh Pirates in September, but the Red Birds managed to hold onto the top spot in the Central. By their regular season numbers, here's who to watch out for. Yadier Molina, C - best batting average .319. Carlos Beltran, RF - most homers 24. Allen Craig, 1B - most RBI 97. Matt Carpenter, 2B - highest OBP .392 & most hits 199. Adam Wainwright,SP - most wins 19, lowest ERA 2.94, most strikeouts 219. Edward Mujica, Closer - most saves 37. Trevor Rosenthal, RP - most holds 29. These are the big names on the St. Louis roster to watch for. But, like any series, other players can have an huge impact. Look at Saltie's game-winning hit in game 2 & the grand slam that came out of nowhere from Victorino in game 6. I'm sure we will be hearing a lot more about the Cards in the days to come. Suffice to say that the 2 teams with best records are meeting in the World Series. Another heavyweight match-up.
