Yankees Fall Again 12-8
Mike Napoli & Shane Victorino are on fire at the plate. A grand slam for Napoli to tie the game & a 2-run homer for Victorino to put the Sox ahead to stay for a 12-8 victory. Felix Doubront was just awful & he should find a mysterious DL injury, like tired arm, to get some rest for 2 weeks. Doubront seems to break down in the 2nd half of each season. Maybe he should come into spring training in shape for once. But even a bad start couldn't keep the Boston bats from catching fire. Now the question is can these same bats score runs today for John Lackey. Lackey would be my #1 starter in the playoffs since he is use to getting little or no support & pitching in tight ballgames. Another loss by the Rays in Seattle increases the Sox lead to 7 1/2 games with 19 to go. It's looking good, but don't cash the check to the AL East crown until the math says it's so. We know better. P.S. Nice to see the Sox score off of Joba the Hut again last night too. Yankees fans have that look on their faces again like 2004.
