Terry Francona & the Cleveland Indians

Canh you script it any better? Terry Francona, in his rookie season as manager of the Boston Red Sox, breaks an 86 year curse in 2004 to lead the team to its 1st World Series championship in the modern era. Now in his rookie season as manager of the Cleveland Indians, the team that his dad played for & the team that he roamed around in the clubhouse as a kid, the Indians finish with 91 wins & await the winner of the Rangers & Rays play-in game tonight. If the Indians were to win on Wednesday, Francona would be heading back to Boston to face his old team in the ALDS. Don't you think TV & radio media are hoping that happens? I read Francona's book on his Boston years & I guess I never knew the seriousness of his health issues. You have to cheer for a guy whose playing days were cut short & who has paid his dues with managing in the minors & coaching in the majors before getting his first big break in Philly which didn't go so well. I think a lot of people in New England are cheering for the Indians. If Cleveland comes to Boston, you can expect Francona to be well received by the fan base. Then, we will want to kick the crap out of the Indians in three straight wins & have the Sox move on.
